Mummy, I will love you a lot a lot. Then you can become princess.
Ruopig a.k.a. Kiki is almost 3 years old now. She has been real chatty in the last half year.
I think I will really miss this period where she wants everything to be same same like mummy. Also she adores me so much that she starts and ends her sentences with mummy. Mummy, buy this one for me mummy. Mummy you see my nails mummy. Mummy I want the nail polish like mummy.
Then there are the many mis-pronounced words that I need to document down before I forget them!
Mummy I want to sit in the por-lis mummy – she says this when she wants to sit in the supermarket trolley
Sticky – which means stickers
Mummy I sleep first and you sleep second helping mummy – this means I cannot fall asleep before her
Mummy buy a yew one for me mummy – asking me to buy her new things whenever she breaks something >_<
Mummy Papa do the stupid thing mummy! – she said this when fat X was changing a faulty bulb in the kitchen. No idea why it’s “stupid” :’D
Mummy I want to use the stronger mummy! – she likes it when we give her medicine using a syringe but she can’t pronounce it correctly
Mummy I want the zapper pants mummy – she means the pants with a zipper :’D
A B C D E F 鸡 – is actually A B C D E F G
Amber-lah is called 姨散 – umbrella is called 雨伞 in Chinese
Mupig gave me a new nickname today. He called me the EOP – Enemy of Pigs because apparently I am buying TOO MUCH PORK for the family and it endangers the lives of innocent pigs. Junpig then commented that he wished I was EOFC – Enemy of Fried Chicken so that we could have more fried chicken for our meals.
Children, I AM an enemy of fried chicken. I just eat all of it on my own because I know how unhealthy it is. 妈妈还是最伟大的!
Then I asked junpig about his library fine. He estimated the fine to be about $3+ but I only give him $2 allowance each day. So naturally I was puzzled about how he managed to return the fine. He said “easy mummy! I just returned them without paying!”
Then mupig added very smugly “the trick is to quickly drop them into the return box and scamper away before the librarian sees your face”
Although I am ashamed by their cheapo personality, I’m also pretty impressed by their problems solving skills :’D
Junpig: Tomorrow is Friday leh.
Mupig: Friyay. Because Friday is a happy day.
Actually autumn is the best because the days are shorter in autumn so we don’t have to work so long.
Such wisdom coming from a six year old :’D
4 July was a school holiday and since I was feeling generous I took leave and brought the twins to kidzania Singapore. They had been looking forward to it since their visit to the kidzania in bangkok.
Excited boys waiting for the bus to take them to harbourfront.
Admiring my 300¥ bracelets on the bus
Got a shock when we reached kidzania. There was one single queue for everybody. Regardless of whether you are a walk-in customer or have already purchased your tickets online. So even though we already purchased our tickets we had to queue for an hour to get in. What a waste of time!
First activity – convenience store.
This was our first activity because it was near the entrance and the queue was relatively short as compared to the popular ones (fireman, policeman, pilot etc).
Junpig doing his dream job again. His joy is genuine
Boys practically dancing with joy after collecting their first salary of the day!
Second activity – board the tour bus!
This was a no-waiting activity. The tour bus was actually waiting for more participants before it can move off!
Third activity – bak kwa
Boys looking pretty legit with the cap
In full concentration
Happy to receive the generous salary.. hee hee..
Fourth activity – learning lab
We persevered with our strategy to join the shortest queue. So the next one was to enrol them in some learning activity. The module they took was about budgeting and stuff.
While waiting for them I couldn’t help but oooh and a aah over these cute little cleaners washing the windows outside
Fifth activity – bank vault
We chose this activity because it’s one of the jobs that gave us higher salary now that we owned a “university degree”
Boys looking very lost.
Sixth activity – peranakan museum
Only junpig participated because mupig was not keen on the extra earnings.. he wanted to make burgers..
Seventh activity – burger making
Mupig was very excited after he made his burger. He said “I made the best burger in the universe!”
Junpig joined the queue when mupig was feasting on his burger. After junpig completed his activity I asked if he made the best burger in the universe and he replied humbly “no lah.. mine is just the best in kidzania lah.. ”
One wefie before we left sentosa.. notice someone’s sad face
Overall I am not keen to go back to kidzania Singapore. It is expensive, feels small (compared to bangkok), and is too crowded.
If you die die have to bring your kids there, I would advise bringing along your own water, bread or some snacks because the queues at food outlets can get crazy during mealtimes. Also, queue for the food activities like soup, pizza, burger during off-peak hours like 11am and 3pm.
Kiki sees sushi for the first time and says excitedly “Papa! Gimme cake! I want a cake Papa!”
Then she starts singing “happy birthday to you” loudly :’D
It was the eve of vesak day (20 May) and I took leave because the childcare centre was closed. Kiki woke up normally but her right eyelids turned slightly reddish by lunch time. When I brought her to the doctor after lunch she was already having a fever.
The swelling worsened the next day so we brought her to A&E (as advised by the doctor who saw her one day ago). She was admitted immediately for further treatment.
The ward doctors put her on antibiotics administered intravenously but the fever and swelling did not subside..
In fact, the swelling was at its worst the day after they increased the antibiotics dosage.
When the swelling finally subsided a bit, the bruise darkened to a dark pinkish red patch..
It’s only 19 June and I am on leave again because kiki woke up with a swollen left eye today and is starting to develope a low fever.. #FML
I hope she doesn’t end up in hospital again.
Cj: mummy will buy you the latest gundam toy on 31st June ok?
Junpig: but there is no 31st June!
Mupig: I don’t wanna wait until 31st July!
Hmmm.. one points out my obvious “mistake” to me and the other one just pretends that I meant to buy him the toy in July..
