Mummy you can save all your money then you can buy more hello kitty shoes 😍
Ruopig a.k.a. Kiki is almost 3 years old now. She has been real chatty in the last half year.
I think I will really miss this period where she wants everything to be same same like mummy. Also she adores me so much that she starts and ends her sentences with mummy. Mummy, buy this one for me mummy. Mummy you see my nails mummy. Mummy I want the nail polish like mummy.
Then there are the many mis-pronounced words that I need to document down before I forget them!
Mummy I want to sit in the por-lis mummy – she says this when she wants to sit in the supermarket trolley
Sticky – which means stickers
Mummy I sleep first and you sleep second helping mummy – this means I cannot fall asleep before her
Mummy buy a yew one for me mummy – asking me to buy her new things whenever she breaks something >_<
Mummy Papa do the stupid thing mummy! – she said this when fat X was changing a faulty bulb in the kitchen. No idea why it’s “stupid” :’D
Mummy I want to use the stronger mummy! – she likes it when we give her medicine using a syringe but she can’t pronounce it correctly
Mummy I want the zapper pants mummy – she means the pants with a zipper :’D
A B C D E F 鸡 – is actually A B C D E F G
Amber-lah is called 姨散 – umbrella is called 雨伞 in Chinese
Kiki sees sushi for the first time and says excitedly “Papa! Gimme cake! I want a cake Papa!”
Then she starts singing “happy birthday to you” loudly :’D
Baby kiki is finally old enough to have her own 语录 debut.. so why not start with something scandalous?
This evening she kept repeating “Papa penis! Papa penis!” after her bedtime milk feed..
It turned out that she was trying to tell fat X she had FINISHED the milk and was passing the empty bottle back to him :’D
we went for our first staycation at Crowne Plaza Changi Airport Hotel during the labour day long weekend.
because parking was too freaking expensive to be considered an option, we took a taxi there.
the check-in was not so smooth. although we arrived on time at 3pm, we were told that the room was not ready yet. the boys were restless and i had to sacrifice my phone for a few minutes of peace before they started to get hungry TuT
baby, on the other hand, was happy to be sitting on a couch in the lobby! 真容易满足！
we finally checked in at 4-plus.. and the room was FREAKING AWESOME~~~!!!
it comes with a king-sized bed with the bathroom on one side..
and the FREAKING RUNWAY ON THE OTHER SIDE!!!
that’s right! you can view the landings as they take place right outside the room!
when we arrived in the room, everyone crowded around the window to catch a plane landing. because i was busy with the baby and the twins were distracted by other things in the room (particularly the tray of complimentary fresh fruits), fat X was the only person standing on guard beside the window. everytime a plane approached the runway, he would announce excitedly and all of us would make an effort to rush over to watch the landing.
the novelty wore off after about 15 minutes because a plane would land like every freaking 5 minutes :’D
so after 15 minutes, even fat X moved away from the window to marvel at other parts of the room X’D
the wall separating the bathroom and bedroom is made of glass.. very romantic right?
someone taking a pee in the toilet :’D
guess who baby was smiling at?
ooooh, it was just papa playing with her from the other side of the glass!
after dumping our barang in the room and marveling at everything inside and outside the room, and almost polishing off all the fruits from the plate, we finally made our way out..
for some obligatory photos
baby tried really hard to stay awake. she refused to lie back on her chair and eventually nodded off!~
we had dinner at paradise inn. the food was great as usual, but service was slow due to a glitch in the ordering system and we waited almost an hour for the food. TuT
the least they could do was to inform us about the delay. what if we had a plane to catch?
luckily the boys were not too hungry and could still entertain themselves while waiting for food to arrive!
a new mode of transport at the airport.. papa-cart!
the next morning, we went down for our complimentary breakfast – complimentary for the whole family! how cool is that!
see? even the baby couldn’t believe her eyes!
the breakfast was great although i didn’t take any pictures because honestly, i’ve outgrown this “i need to take a thousand photos of the food before anybody is allowed to touch it” shit. my family is able to enjoy hot meals because i kicked this weird addiction and i am rather proud of myself 😀
so after breakfast, fat X brought mupig to the pool while i brought junpig and baby pig back to the room for some chillax.
being an awful mum, i totally forgot to take any pics of mupig and the awesome hotel pool TuT
instead, i took lots of pictures of the kids on the hotel couch. because, hello natural light!
it started with a selfie with baby..
then i tried to take a pic with all the kids.. and then it became more and more chaotic :’D
i wonder why it’s easier to take a pic with all 5 of us. somehow the twins didn’t go crazy when taking this pic :’D
after checking out, we brought the twins to try out the slide at Terminal 3. the tallest slide was closed so we tried the “not as tall but still pretty fun” sibling slide.
while the brothers were having fun, the baby grew so bored that she fell asleep TuT
because we didn’t want our short staycation to end so soon.. we had some ice cream with waffles before leaving :’D
actually no lah.. the reason we had ice cream was because we had just applied for the Changi Rewards card and wanted to enjoy some GST savings before leaving TuT
overall, it was a fun stay which the kids thoroughly enjoyed! our only regret was not applying for the Changi Rewards card on the first day. we could have saved up quite a bit of money with the 7% GST savings.
will be planning for another staycation at this hotel. hopefully i will manage to get some nice pictures of the pool :’D
Erm yes. . The dress in the previous post was a muslin for this dress! Also, I need to work on my ironing skills.
I used elastic to pull the skirt together and I think I will never use the normal “pull the thread and gather the fabric” method again. That method always makes me swear but this elastic method? It is fast and easy and it does not make me swear so it’s good 😀
If you find this fabric a little familiar, it’s because I used it for this tiny blouse last year (before I was pregnant with the babe). And if you’re wondering what happened to that blouse..
The babe wore it for about a month before she outgrew it. That’s what I dun like about woven fabric (besides being wrinkly), it doesn’t stretch so when the baby has grown fatter the clothes have to go 🙁
Despite everything, it was a comfortable blouse as the cotton was light and soft.
See? It was so comfortable that she could even sleep in it 😉
Anyway my new camera (sony alpha 5000) arrived today and it is AWESOME. I can now send the photos directly to my phone for blogging. love love love!
Also love the WordPress app which I have been using for a few months now :’D
this pregnancy was not easy. i was very blessed to be a stay-at-home person during the first trimester when the nausea was at its worst and i contracted all kinds of viruses that resulted in fevers (you can’t get any more miserable than that during your pregnancy). my appetite was screwed as well and the only food i ate was plain porridge or luncheon meat (zero-nutrient junk food) sandwich (for carbo) with an egg (for protein) and cheese (for calcium).
in the second trimester, i started working again and i actually felt good because
i love money the nausea was gone and the singleton tummy didn’t bother me at all. i ate a lot and walked home from work every evening. i didn’t feel any body aches or pain except for the occasional lower ab pain towards the end of the second trimester.
the third trimester was a different story. the nausea and loss of appetite came back. although the tummy wasn’t particularly huge, i somehow developed bad backaches and tailbone pain. the tailbone pain was so bad that it kept me awake at night >m< the weird loss of appetite meant that my breakfast choices were limited to KFC or McDonalds. for some reason, i just felt nauseated after breakfast unless i had some quality fast food for breakfast XD and this sort of explains how i gained so much weight despite carrying only one baby
baby summer was delivered via c-section surgery on 8 May. the main reason was because she was already 39 weeks and i’ve had enough of being pregnant for what seems like forever and my doctor was going on leave on 9 May and i didn’t want any strange person doing the delivery for me XD
the surgery was scheduled to start at 8.30am and we (meaning fat X and cJ) arrived at the hospital at 7am sharp as instructed. however, things got a bit delayed because i was still undecided on whether to proceed with the ligation procedure. at 8.25am the OT team called and
kaopeh advised us to proceed to the OT as the surgeon was already there.
one delay led to another (for some reason, they also could not find my documents for the cord blood donation) and baby summer only arrived at 9.13am.
after summer was born, she was placed on my bare chest for an hour and it was the most amazing experience i ever had 😀 she was so tiny, so pink, so perfect.
this is a collage made by neo sister. at birth, summer did not look like the mini men at all!
summer’s first photo with papa and mama

junpig wrote a message for me on mothers’ day X’D
mupig and his mothers’ day message <3

summer was born with receding hairline TuT i hope her hair grows out soon
sleeping like an angel
summer deep in thoughts while lying on papa’s chest
perfect little fingers
pretty little feet
her foot was only slightly larger than my favourite essential oil!
the last two weeks hasn’t been a walk in the park for me.
it started with fat X who contracted the stomach flu from hell. in a nutshell, he had diarrhoea about 30 times on the first day, 15 times on the second day, and 5 times on the third day before he went back to work on the fourth day. i would have checked into a hospital after the first day.
when the wife is sick, the wife suffers on her own. but when the husband is sick, the poor wife becomes a mother to the husband and wakes up in the middle of the night to check his temperature, massages him with nice-smelling essential oils to make him feel better and sleep better, nags at him everyday to ensure he sticks to a strict diet of plain porridge and not things like fried eggs and luncheon meat with porridge.
thankfully, fat X survived the ordeal without infecting anyone else :’D
unfortunately, another mysterious virus hit mini men last weekend and they had 40-degree fevers for 3-4 days. that, my dears, translates to more sleepless nights for 老娘.
today, the mini men were finally well enough to go back to school and i spent all my free time sewing.
this is oh-so-therapeutic :’)
i transformed a very old shirt into a bean pillow (top left), a pair of baby pants (top right, in case it’s not obvious to you), and a pillowcase (bottom). because i am oh-so-lazy, i merely cut out a rectangle from the shirt without removing the pocket or buttons. the buttons act as an opening for inserting the pillow X’D
i take sucky pictures. but this is a closer shot of the pillowcase that comes with pocket and two buttons XD
and since i have an overlocker now, i must overlock ALL THE THINGS. so i made the actual bean pillow by overlocking on all four edges of the casing. super convenient!
baby pants. what else can i say about these? erm.. they remind me of old-man unperpants?
another pillowcase made using a small piece of japanese fabric which i had been saving since my last pregnancy X’D
i also made a square top for myself using the leftover fabric from baby summer’s dress. the pattern is simple but i walked about 100 times to and fro between my sewing room and bedroom just to test out the fit.
the neckline is bound using my favourite 80-cents bias binding X’D
the armholes are just overlocked, turned inside, and then stitched in place. i love my overlocker!
no, obviously a top made from half metre of fabric would not fit over my 35-week pregnant belly. this is meant to be worn when baby summer is wearing her dress! X’D
so while mupig was fighting against some unknown stomach virus this week, i nearly went crazy staying up EVERY NIGHT wiping his burning head and neck with peppermint water. instead of resting during the day, i chose to download the baby geranium pattern and ending up making a newborn dress for baby summer. i guess when you’re pregnant, you have somewhat different priorities?
the fabric is a light double-gauze fabric i bought from Japan last July
i was too tired when making the dress and only realized that the gathers were distributed unevenly after the dress was completed *sobs*
pearl snap buttons are from Spotlight
this is the only exposed seam in the whole dress!
behold, raw edges were finished using zig-zag stitch…
this might be the last time i’m using the overlock foot to finish my raw edges because…
I FINALLY BOUGHT AN OVERLOCK MACHINE! i can’t believe i actually waited this long to get one. it takes more time to thread (still, it only took me ~5 minutes to thread all 4 spools leh) and the swinging knife looks scary when the machine is operating at full-speed but IT IS A FREAKING AWESOME MACHINE! so if you’re still sitting on the fence about it, mai tu liao.. get one now!
now my only problem is i don’t have much things to sew XD
