Ruopig 语录

(She refers to photos of me pregnant as “mummy eat the baby until tummy big big”.. so she now thinks that women with big tummies have babies inside the tummies..)

Kiki: Mummy you are the hello kitty with the baby (patting my tummy lovingly)

Cj: i do NOT have a baby now!

Kiki: but jar now I see your tummy getting big big already

I guess it’s time to do some crunches XD

3 days of hospital visits

Day 1 – Mupig’s MRI scan

The MRI went surprisingly well!!

Initially mupig was fidgeting and sneezing and we had to redo the first 2 sets. I was very worried and told him that we may need to stay there the whole day if he didn’t lie very still.

Guess he got scared because next thing I know.. he stopped fidgeting and actually fell asleep amidst all that noise. Yes, it is possible to fall asleep despite all the noise. I accidentally dozed off and when I woke up he was already sleeping soundly.

The whole procedure took about an hour. The previous MRI took more than 2 hours so I was really happy about it! The best thing was, because there was no dye injection, the MRI only cost about a third of what I paid previously! #notsocheapthrills

After lunch, junpig and i went to the annual book fest at suntec. Felt sian that there was nothing much to buy – don’t feel like buying more things to clutter up the house.. BUT! I bought a new digital piano for myself!! Now all I need to do is throw out a thousand things so that there is space to put the piano <3

Day 2 – Kiki the merlion

Kiki vomited multiple times in school. By the time fat X and I reached her school she had already vomited 5 times. Quickly brought her to a GP who administered a suppository to stop the vomiting. It didn’t work. Three hours later she was still vomiting and unable to tolerate any liquids. Her fever was also getting high.

So we went to the hospital AGAIN!!

It was a long and painful 4 hours there but fortunately for us, her condition improved and the doctors released her.

The secret is to pack a hospital bag as if you are prepared to be warded.

Cannot drink from the measuring cup but need to use a straw. If this is not 怪懒 then I dunno what it is.

Day 3 – Mupig’s MRI review + Art Science Museum

So we went back to the hospital AGAIN! Hooray!

This time I didn’t take any pictures of the scans because they’re exactly the same as the previous one! Very relieved.. I truly believe that this is as good as it gets already 🙂

I love hospital appointments in Dec! It was my first time seeing the waiting area so empty at the CCRC.. the dental doctors even had time to talk along the corridors!!

So after the short consultation with Dr Low, we quickly moved on to our next planned activity – Art Science Museum!

Twins on the MRT

Mupig standing (somewhat reluctantly) in front of the restaurant named after him.. hahaha!

Taking a VR tour

It was actually quite fun.. if you’re an 8 year old.

Two vain pots dressing up.

Initially they were whining and refused to put on the various costumes when I said I wanted to take pictures of them. But after seeing all the cute little props they spent like 10 minutes trying to put on EVERYTHING available there..

Binoculars

Cameras

Magnifying glass

We had a great time at the museum! Unfortunately the stuff at the cafe was so expensive that I wished it was all in ringgit.

Ruopig 语录

Right now kiki likes to say “just now… ” but it comes out as “jar now…” and it’s the cutest thing!

Mummy, this shoe is too big for me how can I wear? Jar now it dropped out”

Mummy jar now I call you mummy!

Mummy jar now where you go mummy? I cannot see you!

Ruopig 语录

Ruopig a.k.a. Kiki is almost 3 years old now. She has been real chatty in the last half year.

I think I will really miss this period where she wants everything to be same same like mummy. Also she adores me so much that she starts and ends her sentences with mummy. Mummy,  buy this one for me mummy. Mummy you see my nails mummy. Mummy I want the nail polish like mummy.

Then there are the many mis-pronounced words that I need to document down before I forget them!

Mummy I want to sit in the por-lis mummy – she says this when she wants to sit in the supermarket trolley

Sticky – which means stickers

Mummy I sleep first and you sleep second helping mummy – this means I cannot fall asleep before her

Mummy buy a yew one for me mummy – asking me to buy her new things whenever she breaks something >_<

Mummy Papa do the stupid thing mummy! – she said this when fat X was changing a faulty bulb in the kitchen. No idea why it’s “stupid” :’D

Mummy I want to use the stronger mummy! – she likes it when we give her medicine using a syringe but she can’t pronounce it correctly

Mummy I want the zapper pants mummy – she means the pants with a zipper :’D

A B C D E F 鸡 – is actually A B C D E F G

Amber-lah is called 姨散 – umbrella is called 雨伞 in Chinese

Ruopig 语录

Kiki sees sushi for the first time and says excitedly “Papa! Gimme cake! I want a cake Papa!”

Then she starts singing “happy birthday to you” loudly :’D

Ruopig 语录 papa penis!

Baby kiki is finally old enough to have her own 语录 debut.. so why not start with something scandalous?
This evening she kept repeating “Papa penis! Papa penis!” after her bedtime milk feed..
It turned out that she was trying to tell fat X she had FINISHED the milk and was passing the empty bottle back to him  :’D

Staycation @ Crowne Plaza Hotel Changi

we went for our first staycation at Crowne Plaza Changi Airport Hotel during the labour day long weekend.

because parking was too freaking expensive to be considered an option, we took a taxi there.

DSC03232

the check-in was not so smooth. although we arrived on time at 3pm, we were told that the room was not ready yet. the boys were restless and i had to sacrifice my phone for a few minutes of peace before they started to get hungry TuT

DSC03237 DSC03240

baby, on the other hand, was happy to be sitting on a couch in the lobby! 真容易满足!

we finally checked in at 4-plus.. and the room was FREAKING AWESOME~~~!!!

it comes with a king-sized bed with the bathroom on one side..

DSC03258

and the FREAKING RUNWAY ON THE OTHER SIDE!!!

20150501_16202420150501_162037

that’s right! you can view the landings as they take place right outside the room!

when we arrived in the room, everyone crowded around the window to catch a plane landing. because i was busy with the baby and the twins were distracted by other things in the room (particularly the tray of complimentary fresh fruits), fat X was the only person standing on guard beside the window. everytime a plane approached the runway, he would announce excitedly and all of us would make an effort to rush over to watch the landing.

the novelty wore off after about 15 minutes because a plane would land like every freaking 5 minutes :’D

so after 15 minutes, even fat X moved away from the window to marvel at other parts of the room X’D

DSC03259

the wall separating the bathroom and bedroom is made of glass.. very romantic right?

DSC03260

someone taking a pee in the toilet :’D

DSC03263

guess who baby was smiling at?

DSC03266

ooooh, it was just papa playing with her from the other side of the glass!

DSC03270

after dumping our barang in the room and marveling at everything inside and outside the room, and almost polishing off all the fruits from the plate, we finally made our way out..

DSC03278

for some obligatory photos

DSC03280

baby tried really hard to stay awake. she refused to lie back on her chair and eventually nodded off!~

DSC03283

kinetic rain

DSC03286 DSC03296

we had dinner at paradise inn. the food was great as usual, but service was slow due to a glitch in the ordering system and we waited almost an hour for the food. TuT

the least they could do was to inform us about the delay. what if we had a plane to catch?

luckily the boys were not too hungry and could still entertain themselves while waiting for food to arrive!

DSC03299 DSC03301 DSC03303

a new mode of transport at the airport.. papa-cart!

DSC03307

the next morning, we went down for our complimentary breakfast – complimentary for the whole family! how cool is that!

DSC03314 DSC03319

see? even the baby couldn’t believe her eyes!

the breakfast was great although i didn’t take any pictures because honestly, i’ve outgrown this “i need to take a thousand photos of the food before anybody is allowed to touch it” shit. my family is able to enjoy hot meals because i kicked this weird addiction and i am rather proud of myself 😀

so after breakfast, fat X brought mupig to the pool while i brought junpig and baby pig back to the room for some chillax.

being an awful mum, i totally forgot to take any pics of mupig and the awesome hotel pool TuT

instead, i took lots of pictures of the kids on the hotel couch. because, hello natural light!

DSC03325 DSC03330 DSC03339 DSC03346 DSC03355 DSC03357

it started with a selfie with baby..

DSC03362

then i tried to take a pic with all the kids.. and then it became more and more chaotic :’D

DSC03373 DSC03374 DSC03375 DSC03381 DSC03398

i wonder why it’s easier to take a pic with all 5 of us. somehow the twins didn’t go crazy when taking this pic :’D

DSC03409 DSC03415

after checking out, we brought the twins to try out the slide at Terminal 3. the tallest slide was closed so we tried the “not as tall but still pretty fun” sibling slide.

DSC03421 DSC03423 DSC03424 DSC03425

while the brothers were having fun, the baby grew so bored that she fell asleep TuT

DSC03427

because we didn’t want our short staycation to end so soon.. we had some ice cream with waffles before leaving :’D

actually no lah.. the reason we had ice cream was because we had just applied for the  Changi Rewards card and wanted to enjoy some GST savings before leaving TuT

DSC03433 DSC03437

overall, it was a fun stay which the kids thoroughly enjoyed! our only regret was not applying for the Changi Rewards card on the first day. we could have saved up quite a bit of money with the 7% GST savings.

will be planning for another staycation at this hotel. hopefully i will manage to get some nice pictures of the pool :’D

Another baby dress

image

Erm yes. . The dress in the previous post was a muslin for this dress! Also, I need to work on my ironing skills.

And I think I was really in the mood today because I made both in a day! You see.. it was rainy and all the kids were napping while i was stepping furiously on the pedal. So yay for rainy days!!
image

How clever of me to hang the dress on a cane hor.. hee hee..
image

image
The top of the skirt is completely concealed within the bodice and the seams are selvage edges so there was no need to finish any edges!

I used elastic to pull the skirt together and I think I will never use the normal “pull the thread and gather the fabric” method again. That method always makes me swear but this elastic method? It is fast and easy and it does not make me swear so it’s good 😀

If you find this fabric a little familiar, it’s because I used it for this tiny blouse last year (before I was pregnant with the babe). And if you’re wondering what happened to that blouse..

image

The babe wore it for about a month before she outgrew it. That’s what I dun like about woven fabric (besides being wrinkly), it doesn’t stretch so when the baby has grown fatter the clothes have to go 🙁

Despite everything, it was a comfortable blouse as the cotton was light and soft.

image

See? It was so comfortable that she could even sleep in it 😉

Anyway my new camera (sony alpha 5000) arrived today and it is AWESOME.  I can now send the photos directly to my phone for blogging. love love love!

Also love the WordPress app which I have been using for a few months now :’D

Life’s good!
