R.I.P ~ Recharging In Progress

Sunday, June 6th, 2010

well.. it’s been a shitass year for me so far and my shrink told me i am the cause of all this unhappiness and frustrations. maybe i should loosen up and don’t be such a perfectionist. nobody’s perfect.

easier said than done.

anyways i was ordered to rest and recharge so here i am.. *recharging in progress* i am frantically typing out my thoughts in the middle of the night before the monsters wake up for their ghost-hour feeds.

i’ve been sewing for the past two nights. my teen-aged sewing machine works really hard at night while my domestic helper appears to sleep peacefully beside it. before you pity the helper for having to sleep beside a sewing machine that is doing O.T., pls note that 老娘 is the one who wakes up at 1am, 2am, 4am, and 5am, so the helper is the one who gets to sleep a good 7 hours. thanks for your concern anyways.

enough about boring rants. see what i made!

what's this?

what's this?

this item was made a few weeks ago but i didn’t feel like posting it because it was a failure, 失败作品!!

i loved this fabric when i laid my eyes on it! but my mum’s first reaction was “an zua li buay jit kuan bor? char char eh, zuo bag gor cham boo tor, zuo goon jin pai kuah, wa bo pian li!” it loosely translates to “why you buy this type of fabric? it’s so stiff, you can make a bag with it, but if you make a dress it’ll be fugly. i’m not kidding you!”

behold! it's a DRESS!

behold! it's a DRESS!

guess what? as usual, my mum was right! the dress looked so wrong! the drape is just wrong :( i think i might just tear it apart and make it into a bag or something.. the pink and red polka dots are too cute!

yawnz.. another dress..

yawnz.. another dress..

i made this last night and thank god it turned out fine. although tb says it looks weird. it seems like according to him, every single item i make is weird. i think he looks weird too, somewhat like shrek, HAHA!

diaper pouch

diaper pouch

tada! diaper pouch! i finally made something that is meant for carrying baby stuff! this pouch is semi-reversible, or not-so-reversible..

not-so-reversible

not-so-reversible

the inside looks much nicer but i forgot to attach a strap to it, thus making it not-so-reversible!

diaper clutch is big enough for 5 XL diapers or 2XL diapers + 2 pkts of baby wipes + 1 pkt of anti-bacterial wipes + plus 2 toddler t-shirts. this is a shiok shiok size, i need to make some more pouches for hankies, bibs, pacifiers, toys and such! lalala ~

goodnight, babes!

god loves you <3

有苦无处诉

Friday, March 26th, 2010

it’s been a long time since i last blogged because i’ve been extremely busy (with what, i have no idea. nevertheless, it’s everybody’s favourite excuse so deal with it) and severely pissed off with life in general. in fact, i am bursting with rants and i’m just about to burst the seams of my too-tight pencil skirts and button-shirts..

transport

ever noticed how empty the bus lanes are in the morning/evening peak hours? that’s because we’ve been trained to steer clear of the bus lanes. after all, nobody likes to be fined for travelling in the bus lane during peak hour, duh..

we’re all rushing for time in the morning because we want to arrive at the office on time so that we can all go home on time. i mean, NOBODY BELIEVES IN WORKING LATE RIGHT? so you drive in the middle lane, but KNN why is the traffic crawling leh? if cars respect public transport operators by NOT invading their dedicated lane, surely these bus drivers could return us the favour by DRIVING IN THEIR OWN FUCKING BUS LANE, right?

NO. these people have to drive at a leisurely speed of 40km/hr in the right lane, thus holding up the traffic.

so, we are fined for travelling in bus lanes. what about these bus drivers who pai-kuan dun want to drive in their bus lanes and end up hogging the right lanes?? HUH? what about them? HUH? HUH?

can we thus go around taking photos of these drivers and send them to the relevant authorities for disciplinary action to be taken??

work

sianz.

health

excellent. nothing to complain about. my backaches and joint pains are getting much better nowadays. oh, but my lungs seem to have shrunk because i feel breathless even while walking up a gentle slope.. time to take the stairs instead of waiting for the bloody lift..

and then on last saturday, i woke up feeling so giddy that i banged into the dining table, the refrigerator, and the kitchen cabinet while making my way to the kitchen at 3am in the morning. sensing something wrong, i did not carry the crying baby at all, thank god both of them are able to hold their own bottles now. so while ah bu was drinking his milk in his sleep, i laid beside him, watching the ceiling spin and fighting the urge to vomit at the ceiling while my skin broke out in cold sweat..

thank god i woke up pretty and feeling much better. can’t imagine spending my weekend like a sick loser..

Rising COE, HDB prices

i don’t really care for COE and private property pricing but KNN why are HDB flats so overpriced de? does HDB really provide affordable housing for the people? has the definition of affordable changed with the times? or maybe we’re no longer the people? *shakes head*

todo list

i have a few sewing projects in mind

  • sling bags or backpacks for mini men – let them carry their own pampers when we go out. due end of the yr because they need to master the art of walking first..
  • small card case – no particular reason, i just feel like making something small
  • small bag – for putting my wallet, many packets of tissue paper, and mobile phone when i go out for lunch
  • small zippy purse that is big enough for tissue, money, some credit cards, mobile phone – no particular reason, i just feel like practicing sewing zippers. and tb put his euro in the last zippered pouch i made, so i need to make another one leh..
  • big bag organizer - i need this for putting pampers, wet wipes, and whatnot in my bigass bags when i bring the boys out.

alright, i think i shall start with what i need first. maybe i’ll get things made, maybe not. who knows.

and i have sort of decided to get a tivoli PM. i hope it’s nice :’D

sorry but i have to say this.

KNNBCCB!

you disrupt my otherwise perfect life. so pls fuck off.

gone deaf at twenty? for goodness’ sake, STFU already!

Wednesday, September 10th, 2008

if you’re one of those music blasters, for fuck’s sake, everyone has a music phone now so please stop being such a show-off. do everyone a favour and plug in your bloody earphones so we can have a peaceful nap or enjoy a normal conversation without having to endure the weird noises emanating from your music phone. your choice of music does not suit everyone on the same bus as you. deal with it.

oh, by the way, music phones are about as common as toilet paper nowadays so please don’t waste your time showing off its spectacular built-in speakers while travelling on public transport. nobody appreciates it anyway.

apparently, your volume is also turned to the maximum when you plug in your earphones.

the constant exposure to such loud music have perhaps damaged your hearing permanently. this is why you have to raise your voices when speaking to your friends in public, and to laugh loudly at jokes that are not funny at all. maybe you find our bored faces and slumped torsos a pathetic sight and just want to share the latest campus gossip with us, just to “brighten our mundane lives with your lively youthful banter”.

it’s ironic that while your parents are complaining about foreigners who talk loudly in public, their children (yes, i am referring to YOU) are behaving in a manner which they strongly disapprove.

perhaps we adults should start teaching our kids for realz.

enrichment classes and remedial lessons help little in this aspect. real upbringing starts from home.

*really* looking forward our new and improved pubic transport system

bus1.PNG

don’t you just love it when life is so convenient? you get ready to leave your office at 6.30pm and you check the bus arrival timing and you’re being informed that the frequency of buses during peak hour is an efficient 17 minutes! how cool is that?!

i am so glad i am a citizen of the little red dot. i love my country. i love how much effort the government is putting in to help us. you know, health care is affordable and accessible to anyone wealthy or poor, waiting time is almost never heard of, the pubic transport system is WORLD-CLASS and we are being reminded of this everyday.

most importantly, we can all look forward to a good retirement. the NLIS (National Lifelong Income Scheme) assumes that most of us will live to a ripe old age. under this new scheme, citizens start enjoying a monthly income after they turn 80.

i can’t wait to see how this wonderful place will turn out when the population hits 6.5 million for realz. although we’re seriously lacking in terms of infrastructure, affordable housing, good and reliable public transport system to support the population growth, i am confident that we’ll be able to overcome all these obstacles (in maybe ten thousand years).

so go on people! just keep on fucking and have more babies!

p/s: we do have a WORLD-CLASS pubic transport system, i am thankful for that. i am thankful for being able to get pushed into the trains every morning as the door close within millimeters of my butt. i am grateful that i am able to get a standing space in the bus instead of being stranded at the bus stop like so many other losers who cannot afford a car or take a taxi. i am indeed grateful.

it can’t get any better than this *grins*

Thursday, August 30th, 2007

don’t you just hate it when cj starts to rant? i am being childish again, deal with it.

here’s the list of really exciting things to look forward to!

  • retirement age at 67: who the fuck in his right mind would wanna work till 67?! i wanna die before 65!
  • an overcrowded living space: how the fuck do we all live together in this shithole if all you care about is importing more and more foreigners into the place without ensuring that the proper infrastructure is in place for all this growth? get a brain. before you start selling more cars, please at least make sure that there is enough road space to cater for the extra vehicles. oops, i forgot, there’s always the ERP. you can always increase the charges and pray (hard) that the conditions would miraculously improve!
  • (possible) compulsory annuity: this may not be a bad thing except for the fact that i am not going to live that long, and most importantly, i do not like to be forced to do things ;__;
  • and on the Odex legal battle (summary :: the anime distributor is taking some legal action against anime downloaders), you know whose side i’m on *grinz*

p/s: i haven’t downloaded a single episode in my entire life. i am lazy like that.

xyz (20yr-old), possibly the only person who owns about every single copyrighted anime title in singapore, is guilty of downloading a few episodes of fansubs. it’s not because he is a cheapskate, it’s because the only anime distributor in singapore, Odex, anime distributors discontinued some of the titles. I just realized that not all titles are distributed by Odex itself :’D

say, if you bought a legal copy of your favourite drama/movie/anime and want to watch the second season/whatever badly, would you google it if you can’t find it in your friendly neighbourhood video store?

fansubs are available for free, releases much faster than the legal copy, and of pretty good quality. most importantly, fansubs are done by people who actually follow the story and can thus provide more accurate translations. if not for the love of anime, who would spend the time and effort to do such a tedious job?

if the folks at Odex truly have a passion for anime, they would have done their best in providing the best quality anime with short waiting times.

fans like bee-chan, cj, tb will gladly spend our last hundreds on our favourite manga set or anime set. we usually don’t complain about the price of our strange hobbies, just bring us the stuff we want. fast.

p/s: bee-chan even goes to the extent of buying special book covers to protect her precious manga.

i’m not saying that the people who keep on downloading without buying the licensed copies are doing the right thing. piracy is theft. it’s just that i need to vent my frustrations on the situation in singapore. we found a much bigger selection of anime dvds in Taipei *drools*..

    要怪就怪我们自己市场小得可怜。。

    Are you done?

    Wednesday, April 4th, 2007

i was ordering dinner with my friends at Kenny Rogers (Suntec outlet, the outlet with the bug problem) and the place was about almost as crowded as CBD on sunday morning.

being the cheapo i am, i ordered some side dishes instead of the set meal. as i proceeded along the line where the queue would be if the restaurant was serving more than the three of us at that time, i figured out that i had to go back to the fatso who served me the side dishes to order my chicken soup.

when i told him my order, he actually had a look of annoyance and went to take the soup grudgingly. After he placed the soup on my tray, he said “Are you done?” in an impatient voice. this is when i truly wish that my closet-gay colleague, muthu the curry-seller-by-day-stripper-by-night would appear magically and give that fatso a good lashing.

seriously, who would have guessed that customers could only order a limited number of dishes at kenny rogers? there were zero customers behind us in the queue so what was his fucking problem with us ordering one more chicken soup? he was being paid to serve customers, not be a model and stand around pretending to look cool in that loser face of his.

according to my friend, the guy at the cashier also needed a lesson at the Academy of Customer Service.

come to think of it, there is no service charge at kenny rogers and so they are not obliged to give service. we should be thankful that they actually provided helpers to help us get our food onto the trays, no matter how unwilling they are.

the auntie at my neighbourhood market does not charge for service too. but she greets every customer with a smile and is patient with customers with special requests.

therefore, i buy my breakfast from her every morning. for the same reason, i will never step into Kenny Rogers at suntec again.

p/s: people in the service industry, if you haven’t got what it takes, please spare us the ordeal and quit your job.

i wonder how bad it’s gonna get when our population really hits 6.5 million

    Sunday, February 25th, 2007

i’ve been feeling very happy for the past three working days, and it’s not entirely because of the bigass diamond ring teabiscuit person begged me to put on while balancing on one knee and holding a bigass bouquet of red roses (Hee Hee Hee… *disgusting sweet giggle*)

traffic was so bloody smooth after CNY that i couldn’t believe my own eyes. i think i still can’t get over how empty Bt Timah Road looks like with less than 40% of the roads covered by moving vehicles.

it was such a beautiful sight, but i suppose everything will go back to normal tomorrow TuT

i think we’re all scared by the 6.5 million population thingy. just imagine how bad the situation would be if currently, the bus service xxx comes at 5-minute intervals and yet every single friggin bus is packed. the situation at SP3 is gonna be worse because those assholes at SBS will never schedule such frequent arrivals for their buses. what cheapos.

i cannot imagine the quality of life we’re all gonna enjoy in a next 2 decades. there’s a really high probability of banging into another human being while i go jogging. also, overtaking that smug relative who drives a mercedes while you’re strolling along the road will no longer be a dream as traffic slows to a standstill due to overcrowding on the roads.

i think i will then contemplate becoming a leaver :’D

how will an increase in GST help the poor?

    Wednesday, November 15th, 2006

maybe prices of stuff will increase so much that poorer folks will stop buying things altogether.. this allows them to cut costs and save more monies in the long run TuT

oh but i seriously think (and secretly hope) that this may also lead to a decline in birth rate because tada! if things are already tough as it is (at least, according to people who use this as an excuse not to have kids but continue to buy Lexus cars and travel to Europe ten times a year for shopping etc), do you seriously expect people to carry on fucking and making babies like nobody’s business? i don’t think so. bras will be worn properly, turtlenecks will be back in fashion despite our shitass weather, jeans will be fastened with metal chains and double-secured with padlocks to prevent unnecessary creation of precious human lives. wonderful picture, i think!

maybe we are gonna morph into a society where only the rich can afford to leave the house~!

we are facing like increasing costs of taking the world class pubic transport, increasing costs of car usage etc.. basically when you leave the house you will need to spend some monies. even when you’re standing at the bus stop enjoying the world class scenery while waiting for the world class buses to arrive once every 30 minutes, three at a time, random people holding tin cans will approach you with a sweet smile/bitter face/gek sai look etc while pleading with you to part with some money that could be better spent on things like a can of iced tea (we need to cool down in our shitass weather, remember?)

lower-income folks have been spared the pain of paying income taxes up till now.. but it seems like they can’t hide forever because EVERYONE IS EQUAL IN THE FACE OF GST!

    <3<3

sigh… it just sucks to be poor.. i think i better go and study for my exams, because the only way to break out of this poverty cycle is through education and i need to constantly upgrade myself and attend courses in order to stay employable etc.. lalala ~

    it must be the hormones

    Friday, June 3rd, 2005

the quitters leave. the losers stay.

just something i told my sister while finally climbing on the retarded and very packed bus that came after a long wait!

    TuT

    are you happy here?

the buildings in the city are procreating day by day… our people are getting more educated, but do we see more civilised behaviour among our youths?

why do i see teenagers spitting in coffeeshops (a place where people EAT.)?

why do people flick their cigarette ashes randomly while they smoke in the public? can’t they gather around dustbins and smoke? or carry a portable ashtray with them (i’m not saying the japanese are smarter, but at least they spare a thought for the cleanliness of the environment)? why are the smokers in singapore so fucking retarded? did the nicotine poison their stupid brains??

motherfuckers commuters on the platform elbow their way into the trains even before commuters trying to exit have a chance to say “FUCK OFF”.

why do i see fugly lovey dovey sex-hungry teenagers smooching everywhere and baring their hairy and flabby asses for all to see? and i mean EVERYWHERE! every single fucking corner, on the train, on the bus, in a toy shop, on the void decks, in the brightest corner of the park, along the road, in the public toilet etc… it’s like free porn but with actors like these i guess you’ll want to swear off sex forever, no wonder the birth rate is declining. FUGLY PEOPLE SHOULD BE BANNED FROM MAKING OUT IN PUBLIC! yeah, you’re fugly but somebody wants to fuck you. congrats. but pls get a room. furthermore, you should do some ABT before you bare your unattractive ass to the whole world. this behaviour is only acceptable if you have a body like gisele bundchen. thank you.

    ********************

lalala, that was a fun ranty piece of shit, i hope you read it and happily punched yourself in the left kidney for being so in love with the imaginary coffeeJelly.

irl, i am starting to make a small collection of simple simple earrings and stuff using my fuckload of beads ( i bought a bunch of stuff before i decided to give up on this hobby until i grow a finger on my ear).. will probably advertise them through email or something so pls drop me a mail if you wanna get the update or something :’D

from the amount of work left to be done (i need to make more stuff, take photos, crop them, upload them, label the items, post them on yahoo etc..) you might get a mail from me some time in the year 2029.

don’t worry about me, i am not unhappy. it’s just the hormones.

meanwhile, you guys stay cool :’D
