damn.. i just realized that the wedding’s about a month away and if i still don’t update this blog, i won’t get a chance to (it’s weird to continue writing in a wedding blog after the wedding, isn’t it?)!!

anyway i’m beginning to doubt my own gender.. i mean, i can’t think of any female human being who keeps on putting weight and eating like nobody’s business even as her wedding date gets nearer. i also cannot believe that i haven’t gone for a facial in more than a year.. it’s a long story.. maybe i should get a random facial now just to make sure i have less blackheads on my wedding day? but it’s all gonna get covered up anyway right?

anyway the wedding songs have been chosen.. the Guo Da Li will be on 14th April, the invites have been properly addressed and sealed, the guest list is *almost* finalized?

all we need to do now is.. get cakes for the GDL, go for makeup trial, shop for flowers, shop for bridal car decorations (as i’ll be having two bridal cars, X and i will be travelling in different cars to make this wedding more unique and memorable), finalize the location for solemnization ceremony, collect miscellaneous stuff (marriage certificates, bridal gown, tea dress, evening gown), pack our bags for honeymoon (one day after wedding), book appointments for my manicure and pedicure X’D, go for chemical peels at doctor’s office… etc etc…

thank god for my good spending habits, i have an entire set of spare skincare to bring over to 家家 so that i can stay over once in a while without having to carry huge bottles of cleansers and moisturisers with me each time!

my new mac on teabiscuit’s new self-assembled study desk from ikea (where self==mr X)! he’s gonna kill me but i gotta say this anyway, I THINK IT’S FUN TO ASSEMBLE YOUR OWN FURNITURE!! esp if all the hard work is done by your obedient husband :P

i love my pink wall, i love my new mac, i love how well these cheap paper boxes match the new shelves! this is like my favourite corner in the house :’D

it was a bloody hot day and princess cj was still down with a bad case of flu/sinus problem but decided to go ahead with the photoshoot anyway. we turned up at the photo studio at 9am and the makeup and hairdo actually took more than two hours i almost got an ass cramp from sitting still for so long TuT. without further ado, let’s sit back and enjoy the photos taken by spy cameras owned by cj and tb!

it was a friggin’ tiring day, we both feel that it’s much more tiring than going to work.. at least in the office i don’t have to do the following..

1. pretend to look very romantic when i’m dying to laugh out
2. smile with genuine happiness when the bloody sun is shining mercilessly on my face caked with layers of makeup and threatening to blind me with its magical rays of afternoon sunlight
3. run around botanic gardens and sentosa wearing a mismatched ensemble of neckerman sandals and a heavy piece of clothing called the wedding gown, in full view of the large groups of korean tourists and other wedding couples who are dressed much nicer than you. i checked, at least the brides were wearing proper dress shoes and not my ah pek sandals. but guess who had the last laugh while trekking across muddy/grassy/sandy terrain? ME! i was walking in my usual yaya papaya fashion and did not have to pretend to be a dainty bride.. lalala ~
   
4. while still in the gone-wrong combination of bare feet and wedding gown, walk into the sea and pretend to enjoy playing with the groom in the water. then unexpectedly, have the groom kick a big splash of water right into your underwear TuT i never felt so cold in my groin before..

to everyone who thinks that wedding photos are romantic, read the above again.. and again.. and again…

it’s a friggin 3 months and 10 days to our wedding and i am having nightmares.. in one dream i attended my own wedding in my PJs and i had birds’ nest hair and that oily-out-of-bed skin TuT

i was crying while the makeup artist was doing my makeup because she was taking her own sweet time and i had a room full of hungry guests waiting for her to finish her business before dinner could be served and blah blah blah…

we also bought our wedding bands today! although the price burst our budget by n times where n is larger than 2, it was totally worth it as the bride’s ring had SO MUCH BLING!!! i can’t wait to wear it <3

oh we also got a free ring pillow with the purchase! pretty until ~

although renovation started in early november, progress was slow due to my exams etc etc.. so far, the floor tiles, ceiling, the partition in the kitchen are done. we also chose the colours for the walls yesterday, my princess room will have shades of pink, while my living room will have a hot pink wall! the master bedroom will be swathed in soothing shades of lavender while the remaining random bedroom will be painted random shades of green because we really couldn’t decide on what to paint!

all the furniture will be in black and/or white!

i am proud to list down our accomplishments this weekend!

on saturday we bought these items for 家家

• lights for kitchen, 3 bedrooms, dining area, 2 bathrooms.
• bathroom accessories for both bathrooms — mirrors, mugs and mug-holders, soap-dishes and holders, toilet roll dispensers, towel hooks, towel rails, glass shelves.
• furniture including - random display unit to be used as a room divider, coffee table, sofa set (3-seater, 2-seater, and an ultra comfy single seat sofa!), dining table with 4 chairs, bed frame with two bedside thingies, mattress (Simmons mattress marked down 70% — REALLY good buy!).

After some haggling our total damage yesterday was about 7k! the following items will take more monies out of our shrinking accounts, but i am looking forward to buying them soonish!

• air conditioners
• tv, refrigerator, washing machine
• study desk
• furniture for Princess cJ’s playroom
• lights for the bomb shelter and the living room (10x 4″ flourescent tubes, plus 18x square box lights, plus the cheapest lightbulb money can buy)

oh we went for gown-fitting today and decided on our wedding gown and evening gown already :’D i am rather disappointed that we didn’t manage to take any photos today but wtf we’re gonna see the dresses in the wedding album anyway… blah blah..

anyway i can’t wait for the renovation to be done so that i can get a new iMac and put it on my new study desk!

we finally collected the keys to our first hdb flat after some minor hiccups and false alarms!! X’D

hdb is giving away a complimentary key holder with all new flats (i think). don’t be alarmed by the number of key rings inside!

there are NINE sets of keys for each house lor..  luckily our 5-room flat does not come with a balcony so we actually have a spare ring in the key holder.

not a big fan of happy lalala songs.. we’re having a hard time coming up with nice songs for the wedding. *sigh*

so far, these two are my personal choices.. i hope teabiscuit sings the first one to me. i will turn into mashed tofu instantly if he sings it :)

this brooch was from a knitted top i bought recently.. it inspired me to make a similar one :’D

i wonder if it’s gonna be suitable  as the flower for my jie-meis! you can pin it on the beaded bracelet, top, or handbag!

some of you may know that i used to spend whatever free time i have on making random beaded accessories.

like any other random singaporean chinese bride, i will be DIY-ing these corsages. however, instead of the usual ribbon ones which everyone is making, i wanna make mine with beads and detachable ribbons so that it can be worn as a regular bracelet after the wedding. you know, recyling stuffs.

i only managed to come up with a concrete design for the bracelet recently so today.. i finally bought the materials i need!

beads in cream, pink, and light blue, with matching ribbons!

the beads are in two different sizes, for variety!

clay roses! i wanna make little rings using these! i hope they turn out fine!

random crystals to bling-orize the bracelets.. and strawberry charms were too cute to resist so i randomly bought them!

so yeah, i’m gonna have five jie-meis (and an imaginary one)!
