hey hey! thanks for being interested in my tutorial :'3
this tutorial demonstrates how to draw an oekaki using the water-colour tool in paintbbs. two lineart methods are shown.
the easier one involves using a 3 pixel brush at A=250 to draw before using the eraser tool to clean the line to the desired thickness. this method is easier and more mouse-friendly.
the second method is the "conventional method". it involves using a 1 pixel brush set at A=250. this method requires more precision and is better suited for doing fine lineart like hair, and the crease above the eyelids.
yup, you may start browsing through the tutorial now!!

this tutorial is all about watercolour and stuff. so make sure you choose the water-colour tool.
the settings i use for this tutorial ---> set A to 250, size to 1px and 3px. save these settings by right-clicking on the little rectangles indicated by the red arrow in the picture on your left.

i am lazy and i hardly have time for oekaki. so i use the ultimate cheapskate method when doing lineart. i do not draw any base sketches, and to get the final clean lineart, i simply clean up my initial sketch :'D
so ah*ma starts the ball rolling by sketching out a profile... no reference used :'D
at this stage, the sex of this person is still unknown

after i'm satisfied with how the whole picture looks, i start to darken the lines before using the eraser tool to do a major cleanup! the eraser should be set to about 3 pixels and A should be 245 or 250, never 255. i use 255 when doing lineart in solids :'D
you need to draw over the same line about 2-4 times before you get the desired colour intensity.

ZOOM IN when doing cleaning up. you don't want to go blind in the process :')
